Hello everyone, its been four and half years since we got married on Castaway back in Oct 2003. We think about our holiday a lot and both hope to come back someday with our two children. A big hello to Rachael who made us feel welcome, as did everyone especially Sera who helped with the wedding. Beautiful place, beautiful people. Hope to see you soon!

We have just had our third fantastic holiday on Castaway. Each time we arrive the wonderful castaway family remember us. It is paradise and we will be back again. The food, service and accomodation cannot be faulted. A special vinaka to the two Emily's, Anna from the boutique, Mosese in the restaurant, Betty for the amazing massages and the boys from the boatshed. Thank you to the lovely hand written postcard that always arrives when we get back fron our holiday, it is a special touch.

Vinaka Vakalevu to all our Castaway family. My husband Sean & I spend 8 glorious nights there for our honeymoon from 8/3/08 and would like to thank you for making it a honeymoon we will never forget. Your staff are so friendly and down-to-earth, the food is amazing and the whole resort is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. We will be back! A big hello and thank you to Emily in the bar; you make the best Margaritas in Fiji! Dear Castaway Team, we have been to Castaway Island in 1998 or 1999, in the moment I am not quiet sure about it. Anyway, the time on your islands have been for us one of the most wonderful times we ever had. We even stated this on our homepage www.windrose-unterwegs.com under (World of islands - Castaway Island)!!! For all of you, thinking about booking a holiday on Castaway Island - book it right now, don't think further there can´t be a better, nicer and more friendly island!!! Once you are there you know what we meant by that, you will be amazed how much personal touch an island can have. Hi To our Castaway Family, We spent 14 wonderful days on Castaway over the Xmas and New Year period. It was even better than the year before. We met Up with friends from the year before and meet fantastic new friends this year. We are coming over again this year with the Wilkinson and Procta family's. We want to thank all of the staff for what they do. The island wouldn't be the same without you. The Kids are missing the kids club. Cameron is missing Fin and Jasmine is just missing everyone. Bula and Vanaka, Returning after twenty two years!!! it was an absolute joy to be back. Everything was perfect, the food, the bure, the beaches, the crystal waters and especially the warm and friendly staff and what a great dive team they have, my husband had the best time completing his dive course. Roll on Oct 09 when we'll be be back, enjoying those lethal Mai Tai's at the 'Sundowner Bar'.

Bula! We stayed 6 nights at Castaway in early January 2008 which was not nearly enough! It was absolutely awesome. The food was amazing, the staff were the nicest people you will ever meet and the accommodation was superb. Our daughters (14 & 16) had heaps of fun and spent most of the time at the pool which was always kept clean. There were a few days of rough weather but we were still able to do everything. The gourmet pizzas at the Sundownder Bar are a must. It is the perfect place for young kids, teenagers, couples and everyone else. We can't wait to return! Vinaka to everyone at Castaway!

Your website brings back so many wonderful memories our our visit over 26 years ago. Although it appears you have made some wonderful improvements and additions, I can see by the pictures that you have maintained the real world earthiness of the Island and Resort. My beautiful wife Pam, (may she rest in Peace), was pregnant with our only daughter the last time we were there. She and I are sitting in our living room, reviewing your excellent website on my new Macbook*. She is touched by the picture views and sell copy, knowing that her mother and father were there and fell in love with the place. If any of the same staff are around, I was the guy from Seattle Washington who was an executive with the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League of the U.S. We had a great time chatting over a cool drink, cold beer or wonderful meal while I tried to explain "gridiron" football to the Aussies and Kiwis. My daughter has her Doctor of Laws degree and is about to take her bar exam. She just said she would love to honeymoon in Fiji when she marries. I would love to return one day before I am too old to move.

We spent 4 wonderful days on Castaway in early Jan/08 on our way back to Canada. We were travelling with our 2 teenagers and we all loved it there!!!The food was amazing, the staff very warm and helpful and there was lots for everyone to do. We especially loved our snorkelling trip out to the reef and relaxing on the beach. We will definitely come back for another holiday.

BULA CASTAWAY!! What a fantastic place! We all really enjoyed our far too short stay(only 4 nights). Although the weather could have been better. Next time we will order the extra special package - the one that guarantes great weather- Ha Ha. SERA you really made our stay very special Vinaka. SERU thankyou for your time and patience Vinaka. Bula !!! to everyone on Castaway. We spent 8 nights on this fabulous island over the New Year period (27th Dec to 4th Jan) and I'm continually looking at the webcam each and everyday. We enjoyed it so much so that we have already booked our next New Years Eve again on Castaway. Our daughter Gemma had a brillant time in the kids club and misses Grace. Bula from Oregon to our Castaway Family. We were married on Jan 15th on Castaway and stayed a fabulous 17 days on the island. We decided to for go the big production of a wedding at home and took a chance on somewhere we had never been, this was the best thing we could have ever done. The Castaway staff were amazing in the set up of our ceremony and although we had no family there the staff and guests at Castaway instantly became our wedding guests. We couldn't have asked for better memories. A special thank you to Sera and Lingo for making everything so perfect for our wedding. I would highly recommend this resort for many reasons; cleanliness, comfort, amazing views and sunsets, good food, but mostly the friendly staff. We would suggest to anyone this as a perfect vacation and wedding destination. Vinaka to our Castaway family you will see us again.

Bula to everyone on Castaway Island! Just got back home yesterday after 7 nights at Castaway Island. We loved our stay and found all the staff to be very warm & welcoming. We already miss everyone and wish we could have stayed longer. On our last day we were unable to leave the island due to Cyclone Gene and were trapped in our bures all day. The staff were exceptionally accommodating in this situation bringing all meals to our bure and even servicing our room. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff at Castaway they made us feel special. A big Vinaka to you all & hope to be back in the not too distant future.

"BULA!!!!! WELCOME TO CASTAWAY!!!", are the three stand-out words i will never forget, for anyone that has been there, they know this friendly welcome when first stepping onto the island, sets the scene for the warm and friendly hospitality that is seen throughout your stay! The watersports and diving/snorkelling activities are great, swimming out for 100-150m and seeing a phenomenal amount of beautiful reef/fish was unforgettable! also a special mention goes to FIN (Finau) who is an absolute champion, and if anyone out there thinks they are a gun table-tennis player, then Finau will certainly shut you down! haha In conclusion, awesome people, great service, activities galore, this is an incredible island and i am already looking at going back in the near future! VINAKA!!!!!

Our three generations of family arrived for our 10th visit of Castaway last June. The new 16 month old grandson was the center of attention and rightly so. The travel from LA with a children's dvd player is the only way to travel. My wife and I have now booked our 11th trip to Castaway for 10 days this summer. I do want to mention one important thing! Castaway is for everyone. Young married, young families, and all other aged couples. I have read elsewhere where it is the for families. Believe me, after last year I can agree. BUT, we have gone to this island alone, with our children when they were teenagers, and with other couples that joined us on trips. The one thing they all agreed on was that Castaway is GREAT!! Cynde and I can't wait to make our annual pilgrimage to the nicest and friendliest place in the south pacific.

BULA!!! Castaway was truly an amazing experience and what a wonderful place to honeymoon! The island far exceeded our expectations. We stayed for 4 days, 3 nights in early November (not long enough!) and it was beautiful, relaxing and so welcoming! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed interacting with Annie and Crazy Betty at the Bure Lomani, Navi (Dive guide), Eddie and Paol. The wood-fired pizzas at the Sundowner Bar are a must. We have been raving to family and friends and are definitely returning!! VINAKA!!!

Bula! It has been a few weeks since we came home from 5 fantastic nights on Castaway. Not long after i came ome we recieved a lovely post card from the staff. So even after we get home they are putting smiles on our faces. The staff are so fantastic, it was like the tropical paradise that u only see on tv!!! My husband Craig, my daughter Hailey and I had an amazing time at Castaway from 11/10/07 to 11/14/07. The Castaway family made our daughters 1 year old birthday very special. We can't wait to come back and visit next year! Vinaka for taking such great care of us and for making our trip so enjoyable and relaxing!

BULA! Unfortunately I was not a guest at Castaway Island... However, I was at a neighboring resort (though it does not deserve this name) when my boyfriend got a bad case of food poisoning and severe dehydration, Castaway was the nearest medical help. The nurse's station quickly put him on an IV to rehydrate. I want to express how refreshing it was to meet the staff at Castaway. The nurse, the women in the gift shop, the front desk staff and all other staff throughout the resort were welcoming, friendly and helpful. As a backpacking student concerned about her boyfriend I didn't exactly look like a typical Castaway guest. Furthermore, I was not even a guest at Castaway and the staff treated me fabulously, helping me make phone calls, inquiring about my boyfriend, tending to him and making pleasant conversation. VINAKA! Compared the the staff where I was staying, the staff at Castaway was a heaven send! It also allowed me to truly appreciate Fiji. Beautiful resort, wonderful people and I want to come stay there!

Just got back today from a fantastic 5 nights at Castaway with my wife Beth, and children Aiden and Zac (6 & 5). One of the best holidays we have been on in a long time. All the staff were extremely friendly and it was just a hugely fun place to be the entire time. Special mention must go to Lily who makes each day at the pool a great laugh, Finau who the boys absolutely adored, and Diana and Una who the kids had an absolute ball with during babysitting time. Bula, It was 11 years ago (April 25,1996) I set eyes on your beautiful island. I arrived on a beautiful day with my new husband and were greeted by friendly and smiling faces. We'll always remember our fishing trips with Saki (Marika's cousin). I pulled in lots of fish while my husband brags about him pulling in the biggest snapper. Looking at your website and ads on TV brought back happy memories. Still with husband and now 3 kids. Special hello to Marika, Simi, Simi's dad who was Manager, and to all who made our stay at Castaway a memorable and unforgettable moment in our lives. We will definitely visit again. We just want to thank everyone at Castaway Island for an absolutely fantastic holiday. We have come home so relaxed and are already planning our trip back next year. It was the best 8 nights we have all had in such a long time. HELLO to ALL of Our New Friends at Castaway, We arrived safely home yesterday after a glorious 10 day vacation. We have traveled to many destinations but my children never cried when they left until CASTAWAY. The only problem I had with staying at Castaway is we didn't stay long enough. It was our first trip to Fiji with us staying most of the time on the Coral Coast and grabbing the last 3 days on Castaway. Once we got to Castaway it quickly became evident that we should have just come direct - the place is fantastic - although it was wet season there was still heaps to do - kayaking around the island was by far the best - the atomsphere is just so relaxing - who wants to go back to the hustle and bussle of normal life? We are coming back and this time we are bringing the kids - we especially love the family atomsphere where kids seem to have more fun than adults. I dont usually write things in guest books and the reason I posted this blog was I just came back from the mailbox and we had just received a postcard from Castaway (personally addressed) - now if that doesnit make you feel special and part of the Castaway family I dont know what else would. One word sums it all up - AWESOME - you have a repeat member of the Castaway family who will be back and cant stop telling family and friends about the great time they had on your island.

Well, My wife and I are back from our 9th visit to Castaway in November and we are missing it already. For our family to chose Castaway over Hawaii, Mexico, Caribbean, Crete, and others tells the whole story. If we did not continue to find something real special about this island, we could and would go elsewhere. It has been a yearly journey but the excitement of getting to the island and what to expect is unbelieveable. We have met many new friends from other countries who agree with our views of this island and also return when they can. But, I must confess, we are now thinking about bringing our new 3rd generation of family with us in 2007. Is there a better way to celebrate a tenth return than with a one year old grandson?

This was the BEST vacation in a long time. We were treated like family. It was relaxing. My children enjoyed being with other teenagers from both the US and other countries. They are anxious to go back again. The best features...no TV or telephone! Even though the world may seem big, it's really not. We ran into Annie's mom in the Los Angeles airport on her way to San Franscisco. How's that for family!

Bula castaway family, we got home about two weeks ago it was our 4th time there and it just gets harder and harder to leave every year. Aseri you are just so beautiful, and Alisi just makes me laugh I love hanging with you, and Finau kima and of course Saki itís never the same with out you there! As soon as you step onto Castaway you are given an island welcome that continues throughout your stay and ends with a traditional island farewell. All the staff say hello or "Bula" when you meet them walking through the tree lined paths to your clean and well appointed bure. With no internet, television or mobile phones and the most incredibly blue, clear warm waters it was easy to slow down to Fiji pace. The food was excellent, plenty of choice and variety I would recommend using the meal plan as this enabled us to relax and choose whatever we wanted. The only down side was the high cost of drinks which when you have a party of 5 in a family can mount up if you are not careful - might be worth bringing some duty free along. Although there were some expensive activities such as scuba diving on offer there were other reasonable, fun things to do like outer reef snorkelling and bannana boat rides. However the free snorkelling just off the beach provides you with the most incredible tropical fish. The best time to swim if you are travelling in January is early morning as the heat builds up well over 30 and the water becomes almost bath like. Having teenagers initially concerned me as I wondered what they were going to do without all the gadgets and friends from home. They soon made friends with other kids of similar age and became one of the locals hanging out with the younger Fijian staff. If you have young kids they have a kids club that provides plenty of activities. I wouldn't recommend it as a honeymoon place as the little ones can certainly make alot of noise. This was the BEST vacation in a long time. We were treated like family. It was relaxing. My children enjoyed being with other teenagers from both the US and other countries. They are anxious to go back again. The best features...no TV or telephone! Even though the world may seem big, it's really not. We ran into Annie's mom in the Los Angeles airport on her way to San Franscisco. How's that for family!

If you are thinking of staying at Castaway Island, stop thinking & start booking. It is a beautiful Island with the most friendliest people you could possibly meet! It is a fantastic Island for relaxation, activities & for the kids, we cannot say enough about the experiences that will stay with us forever while holidaying on this great Island. It was 6 degrees!! Ia am still unpacking all my necklaces etc. for family and friends, and finding little bits of sand in my clothes. We have just returned from the most chilled out 6 days on the island - a huge thankyou to all the castaway family, to Sera, Eddie, Aseri, and Moses and all, you made our stay that so much better. We'll certainly be back!

We leave for Castaway for the 9th time in eight years in 19 days. My family loves to vacation and Castaway is always included, normally for 7 to 10 days a year. Although we live in Arizona, we start enjoying Fiji as we board Air Pacific in Los Angeles. The 10 hour flight time passes quickly as we start dreaming about arriving on the Tiger IV catamaran to greet our "family". It is the word "family" that truly makes Castaway. We arrive to beautiful weather, song, and big hugs as we are again at our home alway from home. To the untold number of friends from around the globe that we have met in our years at Castaway, we indeed will toast to you, wishing you were here joining us for Castawy's 40th anniversary. That toast will include my daughters who sadly will not be joining us this year. My family have been coming to Castaway on and off for the last 30 years. My youngest daughter took her first steps on Castaway and when she was looking at getting married she would not consider anywhere else. The family travelled over for the wedding with them and it was absolutely fantastic. The Castaway family went to so much trouble to guarantee it was unforgettable. We have recommended a Castaway wedding to everyone we speak to, it was the best.

We have just come back from our 2nd stay on Castaway. We were there for 10 amazing nights. Again, we had the most fantastic holiday and have come back home very relaxed. At the present we have two dogs, one is named "Fiji" and the other is named "Lingo".

My daughter Carrie and I had a wonderful time in June 2005. Carrie loved the diving and we made friends. We'll be back on the 3rd September 2006 this time with my son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter. Can't wait! We look forward to renewing friendships and creating new ones. BULA! It's our first day back home and we're trying hard to deal with our 'Castaway' withdrawls, so for a quick fix we resorted to the webcam to watch the sunset for today.
