BULA !!!!! In November we spent a very memorable 8 days on Castaway Island. It was the most relaxing holiday we have ever had. To be spoilt and pampered was what we were looking for - it is certainly what we got. The STAFF are all wonderful and the friendliness is so refreshing. We have recommended Castaway to all our friends and also hope to be back ourselves in the not too distant future. VINAKA !!!!!
Just wanted to send a Happy New Year to all our friends at Castaway! We just got back from a long weekend diving in the Florida Keys (Tavernier, FL) and although the diving was great it still didn't compare with your great reefs and the hospitality of Castaway. Hi to all you lovely people on the beautiful Castaway. We have been back from there for 1 month and miss it so much. Thank you for a memorable and awesome holiday. I hope everyone on Castaway has a lovely Christmas. We are coming over on the 28th December and will be there for New Year. We can't wait. It's only 11 days and we'll be there! Looking forward to seeing everyone again.
Bula, We are traveling to Castaway in late March 2001. We have heard so many wonderful things about the island and are really looking forward to it. We are bringing our two children ages 2 and 6 and hope there will be other children to play with. We are divers and looking forward to some great diving. If you are planning a trip to Castaway in late March, we would love to hear from you.
BULA! We had a fabulous six days with you at the end of November and just wanted to say VINAKA to the whole "Castaway Island Family". It was near the end of our round the world trip and we felt very spoilt from the extremely kind staff. We can't stop talking about it to friends and family and are longing to return. Hi.... its been a year and a half since we were at castaway Island and not a moment goes by that we don't remember the most awesome and wonderfully relaxing holiday we ever had. The food, accomodation and staff (plus the great weather) were the best..... We are now going back again mid year in 2001 (my third time and my husband and two children's second time). I can't say enough about the benefits of this indulgence.... its worth every cent.... DO IT!!!!!

One of the hardest things I've ever done is to leave Castaway Island resort. It was one of the most enjoyable experiences of my life and I have traveled the world. From the smiling faces and hearty "BULA" of every single employee to the extreme honor of being invited to attend the new church blessing and dedication and meeting the president of Fiji's Methodists, there was no part of my trip that was not totally positive. Polly and I talked story about the similarities and differences in the Fijian and Hawaiian cultures and I learned a great deal from her. She also is one of the best masseuses I've ever had!! Kima was an absolute delight and he made everyone have so much fun. He can come to my parties anytime he wants!! Hello to Mere and Jesse, and a big MAHALO to the Castaway Beach Boys for letting me join them in song and dance. Karen, Smilie and Craig were outstanding dive masters. Your underwater world is just as beautiful as your hospitality and island. In Hawaii we don't say good-bye, we say 'E Hui Hou' which means 'Until we meet again'. Aloha 'Oe. Sheila and Micheal Arthur
I just came back this week from my second time at Castaway and i am already saving to come back. Big, Big hello to Manu and Lilli oh and Jale!! big thanks to Whati for almost tipping over the fishing boat(please pass that message on), Great thanks for me, Mark and Dean to all staff whom invited us to the ceremony! The ceremony was very interesting,and cani just say all the children i saw in the village were absolutly beautiful!! We had an amazing time i am looking more than forward to returning A.S.A.P, if it wasn't for all the Castaway staff our trip would not have been the same thankyou so, so much.
We'll be there in a month. We are just buzzing with excitement about being on Castaway again. It's so cool to read everyone's comments in the guestbook. We'd be interested in hearing from anybody who has been on Castaway for New Year's Eve. What's it like? We can't wait, but I guess we'll have to, for a month anyway.
BULA! We've only recently got our computer, and were idly "surfing the net" when we found your entry. We came to your beautiful island on honeymoon in early June 1999, and all our wonderful memories came flooding back. The hot sun and the warm Pacific, the fiery sunsets, the lovely people, too many beers before dinner one night with Lingo and Craig ....the list goes on and on. We'll be back for our 5th Anniversary in June 2004 - keep Bure number 15 free!

Bula! We had such a lovely stay with you for such a short time! (Only 2 full days) Craig & Karen at the dive shop are such lovely helpful accomodating divers! We especially loved our first night dive and the 2 tank afternoon dive just so we could get in the diving we wanted while we were there - and there is so much to see here diving!! Dear Castaway, I'm 11 years of age. I really enjoyed my stay on your island from 20 - 27 Sept 2000. I enjoyed the kids club because your staff were really kind and I liked Lilly's sense of humour. My favourite activity was frog catching. Your pool is much better than all the other island resorts I have been to. I also liked it how the facilities were readily available and easy to get. For my next birthday I have asked for a plane ticket to Fiji so I can come back to Castaway because it is the best island in the world. Your friend James (alias 'Bob')

They were wrong. The newspapers and various govermnents were warning against going to Fiji. My family,including four teenagers,could not have felt more safe than we did on our recent visit to Castaway Island. I really hope Fiji can solve her problems because with Her location in the South Pacific, I see Fiji as having tremendous economic potential. My family arrived home from Castaway on july 2, 2000 after another fantastic stay of ten days. To the Castaway Team. Thank you all so much for a great holiday. Although we could only come for 4 days this time, we will surely be back again. We have stayed in Fiji many times including other islands and CASTAWAY is the best. When trying to choose, during the Coup, we had offers from other islands. We are now very happy we came to you. A special thanks to Sovia for looking after both our son's, espacially little Ethan (2yrs) whom is a bit of a hand full, even for us. You have a great spot, lovely people and great food. Bula Bula. We are now settling into 10C temperatures and can only remember the warm climate and friendly people on our island of paradise. It was the best holiday we have had for ages. We just love our special Castaway Island, the view from the South Beach is the most magical sight in the world! We just find the staff on Castaway the most friendly, warmest people ever. It is wonderful to enjoy our holiday and have our children enjoy themselves as well. We will be back soon, please Fiji, stabilize your government!
Well we're still coming i see nothing to prevent us or deterr us from having a fabulous time. We hope that "the situation" will have mellowed enough so that we'll be able to meet some fine folks from NZ and Australia. vinaka!

It will be five years this September since I left Castaway Island where I worked for several years as a dive instructor. I can honestly say that there isn't a day go by when I don't think of the wonderful people, the fabulous diving and the unbelievable lifestyle. Whilst I was there, I had my cousin visit and in June 2001 he is getting married in Fiji, so at last I get to return!! I look forward to spending some time back on Castaway with the magnificant staff,and I await in anticipation to dive the many exquisite reefs around the area with the dive team. If you want a very memorable holiday, make it priority to vist Castaway Island Resort!! Bula vinaka!!
I cannot believe that I'm writing on Castaway Island web site. I have visited Castaway over 7 years ago, then I still picture the beautiful sea and people. You know what? I could not speak English well at that time with my friend. We were kind of little dogs cause of our language issue. However, the people were so kind and trying for us to enjoy with them. I enjoyed walking in bare foot like them to feel something like natural life. Now, I can show my feeling in English and say.... Castaway Island was the best island I have ever been.
Well, Jody and i truly excited about our return. Its been 25 years since we were on Castaway for our honeymoon. Any other Castaway returnees from that long ago? Email us! We'll be bring our pictures of the place; which obviously has changed a bit. Bringing out 17 year old and 11 year old to give them their "Rites of Neptune" for their first trip over the equator. Based on what i've seen from the comments I expect the staff will be as friendly as they were then and the burres to be as nice. Just a few more of them! I think there were like 15 of them in 1975. I recall drinking fiji bitters with a kava back (whoaaa!) and learning and trading guitar lessons with the band. Picasso Trigger fish in the lagoon and huge parrot fish and trevally over the drop-off. We didnt want to leave. We'd like to hear from repeat Castaway guests and hope to meet some of you when were there. I loved the people we met there hope to meet more.

We have just returned from our fifth visit to the most beautiful place on this earth. Castaway Island fulfills all our needs for a perfect "Getaway" from the stress and daily grind of our business. All our needs are met in the most perfect way. The staff at Castaway have developed the perfect way of enabling their guests to be pampered and spoilt. From the first moment of setting foot on the beach, a sense of happiness and lightheartedness takes over. Meeting up with our friends on the island adds a feeling of "coming home". The beautiful Anna - whoise laughter echo's arounf the island, putting a smile on everyones faces. All the staff are just so lovely and friendly. My favourite memory of this trip, is our last night on the island, when we went and had a cocktail to watch the sunset and Vuki was entertaining us in the "Sundowner" singing the beautiful Fijian songs - my favourite "Beautiful Fiji". Another night spent sitting with the band, singing, talking with Mere and Sam, drinking Kava and soaking up the atmosphere was another favourite memory. Seeing Mere and Varinesese waving goodbye and Anna on the balcony of the "Sundowner" as our plane circled the island brought tears to our eyes. Thankyou all so very much for making us so very welcome and making our little break everything we anticipated. You all are such very special people.

Bula!. Sherryl and I just wish to say a very big thank you to all the staff on Castaway. Six days on Castaway is six days in paradise. We enjoyed being able to relax and unwind and enjoy swimming, snorkelling, sailing and having lots of fun with the others guests and staff. The staff are just wonderful and I wish everyone to know that you cannot get better service anywhere in the world. I would ask that Sirelli tell everyone of the staff how much Sherryl and I enjoyed the fun that they put into our holiday. I see from other messages on this site that everyone sends regards to Lily - I can vouch for the comments - Lily is really wicked and mixes up some real mean cocktails. A 'special' Mongolian Dingbat in the pool is very relaxing before you ajourn to the Sundowner for a Bula Hour drink to watch the sunset, before Emele, Naba or Sani look after you as you have a wonderful meal under the southern stars. My thanks to Vil for his help and assistance with the boats and showing us where to snorkel. The Band Boys (and all the other staf who joined in) were fabulous. It is just lovely to see the way the staff look after the smaller children. You are a loving people. I hope I didn't pich too many of those fabulous Tovo flowers - they are magnificent. Guess you can see we enjoyed our time on Castaway and want to go back again. Lawrence and Serri - thank you for the night time entertainment. I will volunteer to be a judge next time in the Sexy Legs Competition. If you go to Serri's Frog Race Auction be warned - do not scratch, move, blink or breathe - it may cost you.[PS I found backing the past champion frog a good move. How did Serri know which frog was the Italian frog?]. The new reburbished main bar looks god guys - save me a space at the corner. I must have been feeling real good on the way home as I stopped off in the Nadi Duty Free and slid an engagement ring onto Sherryl's finger to finish the holiday off. Bula! We just got back home after an 8 day visit, and my wife is trying to plan our next return trip already. We have traveled most of the world, but Castaway has become our second home after only one visit. The people are genuine and have stolen our hearts. The accommodations were superb. The food, well I did put on 8 pounds in 8 days. The water, we never got out of it and my wife would joke about me growing gills! A special thanks to Merillian, the reservationist, who saved our return trip singlehandly from desaster. Craig, Karen and "Crazy Charlie," save a spot for us on that new dive boat for next year. Thanks to all of our new family, we can only count the days till we return home.

Castaway Island is amazing. We went there for the first time in the Summer of '99. I will never forget it and will definately go back soon! All the people were so friendly and the atmosphere was like something that I have never experienced before. I have been trying to find a Web site for Castway since I got back but I have just found it now. I would just like to thank one particular man on Castaway who made our time there so special and unforgetable. This man was Charlie, who works on Castaway and who we met on the boat from Nadi. Charlie told my Dad who is quite gullible that when the boat stopped he would have to swim to the shore whilst the men took the bags in the little boat. He continuosly made us all laugh and I would just like to say a special thanks to him. (So if Charlie is still on Castaway I would really appreciate it if he could see this!) I would also like to say thanks to the Wood Carvers, who are the most talted craftsmen that I have ever met. We successfully got back to England 2 wooden parrots, a dolphin, a turtle, other minature wooden animals and a mask necklace which I have on now! So thanks to Matthew and Jone Soko. And just to let them know that we haven't forgotten about them and we will be sending some tools for them very soon!! So anyway, just to say thanks for such a wonderful experience on Castaway Island and thanks to all the people who made it so special! Thanks! Love Stephanie Mills

RE: Diving Classes on Castaway In Dec. 1999, I did my open water diver certificate on Castaway. The training was absolutely top and so was Karen's tuition: friendly, competent, straightforward, patient, made-to-measure. Thank you, Karen - Castaway diving can only be recommended!!!

We celebrated 2000 at castaway. The island is beautiful. The most facinating part of our trip is the "PEOPLE OF CASTAWAY". We created friendships with the FIJIAN People that will last a life time. Your vacation is what you make of it. THe weather was great. We are definetly going back again.

We had a wonderful holiday on Castaway in October, and can't wait to come back. Thank you for a wonderfull stay at Castaway Island December 26 to January 1st. We will remember this Millenium New Year forever. BULA!!!! Well 1999 was a special one for our family since we found castaway. In March our entire family Cynde, Andi, Robyn, and of course Rich visited. We came home and immediately came back with six friends and many pictures of our castaway friends. Thank you Gary, Dawn, Lingo, Karen , Craig, and naturally the Beachboys. Your family as become our family and we have had a family vote for the new year 2000. We are coming back for ten days in June with both our girls. They are real excited about the diving and singing with the beachboys. Also, Cynde at the age of ---- is thinking of taking up scuba diving. Yes Karen, we really trust you and are looking forward to the new dive boat. Also tell Philleppe, Charlie, Mess, and the eggman Edward, for short, that the vote was 4-0.
